Kevin Costner, who recently made headlines as he left Yellowstone season 4, said this show is not fit for his family to watch. The actor, who portrays John Dutton, the show’s main character, admits that the series holds scenes he considers inappropriate for his kids.
Protecting His Young Family
Kevin Costner has three children: Cayden, 15; Hayes, 13; and Grace, 12, from his marriage to Christine Baumgartner, whom he wed for nearly 18 years. The couple separated in February, of the following year. As for his younger kids, they have children’s questions about his work, but Costner is sure that Yellowstone’s themes are too adult to let his kids watch the show.
The actor also has four kids from other relationships, three girls, Annie and and Lily, and four boys, Joseph and Liam. Let’s hope that in his recent divorce, Kevin Costner has received support from these older children as much as they received from him in the past.
While Kevin Costner may capture the tough and rough spirit of John Dutton within the series, the actor is a lot more gentle in his life outside of the screen. He now tries to spare his younger children from some of the obscene materials that he comes across in his work, but he does allow his children to watch his projects whenever this can be done without causing any embarrassment to the children due to their age and status.
Preference for Classic Works
Kevin Costner has said he wants his children to start watching his past works, which are not as hardcore as Yellowstone. He plays an active part in watching his work so as to assess if it should be watched by his family or not. The star is one of the most famous people worldwide and has a very tight working schedule, but he tries to keep things as usual for his family.
His caring attitude towards parenting shows his commitment to combine his working experiences with his parenthood. As for the last scene where Kevin Costner himself gets off the show from Yellowstone to invest in other links, one can observe that, as before, Kevin Costner tries to maintain a balance between business and family, as in real life.
