Daredevil: Born Again – Why Are So Many Old Faces Returning?

Daredevil: Born Again releases with a combination of classic Netflix content and the Disney+ MCU present. Combining original and fresh characters brings diversity to the show as they join together. The initial two episodes establish the beginning of Matt Murdock’s (Charlie Cox) newest life path, which is currently accessible for streaming. The death of someone close has caused Matt to leave his Daredevil identity behind while Wilson Fisk holds the New York Mayoral office. Fans are uncertain about the historical connections between this new series and its precursor because multiple previously introduced characters join the storyline. The primary characters who have come back to the story include these individuals.
Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio)
Fisk returns with Vincent D’Onofrio once again playing the role of Wilson Fisk, who now leads the underworld as the crime Kingpin in New York. The accomplished actor Vincent D’Onofrio has appeared in hits including Full Metal Jacket, Men in Black, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, in addition to gaining fame for his Daredevil role. The MCU audiences have already witnessed Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in Hawkeye and Echo before he delivered his memorable performance in Daredevil.
Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll)
Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page reemerges as Matt’s close companion and romantic interest to his friend in the show Daredevil. She took a central part in both the Daredevil and The Punisher television shows. Woll maintains popularity for her roles in True Blood and the Escape Room films when not acting within the Marvel universe.
Frank Castle/The Punisher (Jon Bernthal)
The character of Frank Castle is reintroduced through Jon Bernthal however, his role in Born Again remains undisclosed. His professional career includes his time as The Punisher while he also worked on The Walking Dead and The Bear alongside The Wolf of Wall Street.
Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson)
Professional actor Elden Henson reprises his role as Matt Murdock’s closest friend and business colleague, Foggy Nelson. Audiences know him from The Mighty Ducks yet recently saw him in Killers of the Flower Moon.
Vanessa Fisk (Ayelet Zurer)
Ayelet Zurer appears once again in Born Again to play the role of Vanessa Fisk, the wife of the Kingpin, who manages his business operations. His previous work credits include Munich, Losing Alice, and Man of Steel, apart from his iconic performances in those movies.
Bullseye (Wilson Bethel)
Wilson Bethel reprises his role in the series by playing the character of Bullseye through Benjamin Pointdexter. His appearance in Daredevil Season 3 suggests a potential change in his support after his return through Born Again.
New Faces in Born Again
The new additions to Matt Murdock’s world are Kirsten McDuffie (Nikki M. James), who practices law, and Heather Glenn (Margarita Levieva), who practices psychology and may develop romantic feelings for Matt Murdock. In the series, Hector Ayala, playing White Tiger, will take on a vital role under the talent of the late Kamar de los Reyes. Born Again faces a difficult task as it brings back most major characters from previous Daredevil stories but sustains an uncertain status as a reboot or simply a continuation of the established series. Audience members will have to remain patient for upcoming unexpected content..
