
A tragic event shook the rock music world when Kimberly Burch the realtor fiancée of Taime Downe from Faster Pussycat fell from an ’80s-themed Royal Caribbean cruise ship. The tragic event happened during the initial days of the retro music cruise which left everyone from her family members to her friends and fans completely devastated. Search and rescue operations continue without revealing all aspects relating to her fatal fall.
A Heartbreaking Family Statement
On Tuesday morning her family used their Facebook account to inform the public about this devastating news.
“It is with broken hearts that we share the sad news that Kimberly Burch has passed away. She was a beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. We ask for prayers during this time for our family as we try to wrap our minds around this heartbreaking tragedy. We love and miss you, Kimberly Burch!!”
Final Moments Before the Tragedy
Kimberly Burch shared a selfie with Downe on the Threads platform the day before the accident as he mentioned their success in boarding “the80scruise.” Both Faster Pussycat band appearances at the 80s cruise had taken place on Sunday and they were set to perform again on Tuesday night. Royal Caribbean issued a confirmation of the fatal accident to Variety operations.
“Our crew immediately launched a search and rescue effort, is working with local authorities, and we are providing support and assistance to the guest’s family during this difficult time. To respect the privacy of our guest’s family, we have no additional details to share.”
Search operations initiated by Coast Guard helicopters were deployed 20 miles from Freeport, Bahamas to hunt for Kimberly Burch’s body.
A Cruise Packed with ’80s Icons
The music-themed voyage dedicated to 1980s nostalgia embarked its first passengers on March 2 while continuing until March 9. The musical schedule includes performers Squeeze along with Adam Ant, Tiffany, Christopher Cross, Sheila E. and numerous additional names.
The musician Taime Downe established Faster Pussycat in 1985 together with Greg Steele and Brent Muscat as well as Kelly Nickels. Faster Pussycat produced four albums until their break in 1993 before their 2001 return. Downe stands as the only permanent bandmember throughout the history of glam-metal group Faster Pussycat while the band surpasses two million worldwide record sales.
