The Fast & Furious saga remains actively under development. Vin Diesel recently revealed an unfamiliar add-on for the movie series that energized passionate fans. Before the finale airs, Vin Diesel has disclosed that his crew will create another prequel to satisfy home audiences first.
A Surprise Prequel in the Works?
Fast X earned its place in theaters during 2023 while including Jason Momoa as the terrifying antagonist Dante Reyes. Viewers experienced a gripping conclusion since the movie deliberately withheld upcoming story details. Before the conclusion of the series, Vin Diesel plans to introduce a fresh surprise project to viewers. Remember when the 57-year-old actor announced through his Instagram account about the development of a prequel, followed by his potential direction of the film.
Vin Diesel’s Big Throwback Moment
Shortly after wrapping up Fast & Furious (2009) production, the studio approached Vin Diesel to lead a short prequel movie that would connect Fast 1 with its fourth chapter. The studio requested him to direct Los Bandoleros, thus he created the 20-minute prequel film, which showed Dom Toretto’s life through the lens of a short. Events currently follow an established pattern that mirrors events of the past. Through his Instagram posting, Vin Diesel expressed:
“The studio asked me to direct the precursor to the film, to explain where Dom had been in between the first and fourth film. It was called Los Bandoleros. Now, all these years later, the request has come in again for me to direct the precursor to the finale.”
Exotic Locations and Big Plans
The future project received limited exposure during Diesel’s public event, although he revealed an interesting filming destination. The desert scenery from the Middle East region that appeared prominently in Furious 7 was mentioned by him.
“Because it is now the world’s saga, I am encouraged to film somewhere else, truly exotic…” he teased.
Such a love of international breathtaking locations by the franchise has fans theorizing about the potential setting of this prequel. Will Dom’s history guide him toward filming in Dubai alongside Africa or any more exciting locations?
What’s Next for Fast Fans?
The arrival of information from Vin Diesel about his upcoming project has caused intense excitement from the Fast & Furious community despite his lack of replacements or dates. A prequel production of Dom’s story seems possible to expand his back story before the mega climax of the franchise’s concluding chapter.
