Singer Linda Nolan Passes Away at 65 After Long Battle with Cancer

Former The Nolans singer Linda Nolan died at the age of 65. She found fame in the 1970s with her sisters and had chart hits such as I’m In The Mood for Dancing. This made The Nolans the first Irish group to achieve record sales internationally, and they would go further on to sell thirty million records.
Shortly after the release of Heatwave Linda decided to pursue a solo career and she left the group in 1983, however, the sisters started performing together again recently. Apart from music, she made her foray into the theatre, with the musical Blood Brothers in West End. She was a columnist for The Daily Mirror and also published her life stories in a best-selling autobiography.
Linda Nolan’s Battle with Cancer
Linda Nolan was initially diagnosed with the disease in 2005 and then after it spread to other parts of the body was declared free of cancer in 2011. But in 2017 she was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer and the cancer had progressed to her brain. She still bravely stood in front of the public, participating in events and even posting on her Facebook the days before she died.
A Family’s Strength
The Nolan family can recount several Cancer experiences. Bernie one of the Nolan sisters succumbed to breast cancer and died in 2013 at the age of 52. Anne, another sister, was diagnosed with the disease for a second time in 2020 but has since recovered. Coleen, the youngest of the sisters, revealed last year that she was undergoing treatment for skin cancer.
Linda Nolan’s passing has been met with an outpouring of tributes from friends, colleagues, and fans. She was admired for her talent, humor, and resilience. Having raised over £20 million for cancer charities, she leaves behind a legacy of advocacy and support for those affected by the disease. Her influence in music and her dedication to raising awareness will continue to inspire many.
