Fans were surprised to see the always intense Shia LaBeouf act so calm during a stressful situation at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. The 38-year-old actor is currently in France promoting Slauson Rec, a straight-from-real-life documentary that O’Neil directed, about the rise and fall of the theatre group he founded.
The spotlight on documentary films is putting LaBeouf back in the spotlight.
Because of this highly personal project, Shia LaBeouf is once again an important figure in the news. During his promotion for the movie in France, Mark Wahlberg was encircled by many overexcited fans. TMZ reports that the actor was swarmed by many persistent fans asking for countless photos and signatures.
Someone even flew from Greece just because they were so excited to see him. Despite what is well known about Shia LaBeouf’s angry behavior, he reacted with more patience than expected. With a calm voice, he looked at the fan and asked, “What are you looking for?” The person who answered said, “A photo.”
Polite Speech to Pressure-filled Encounters: Events That Increased the Tension
He kindly said yes and posed for several audiences of fans. Soon, the situation changed when the crowd came too close to him, trying to snap his picture without asking. Because of his fiery temper, shown in Slauson Rec, Shia LaBeouf controlled his anger for a short period. When the fans didn’t back off, he finally snapped in a controlled but firm tone, saying,
“Please leave me alone—get off of me. Back off, you got [your picture] four or five times.”
Having given everything to the swarm, he said,
“Go away from me, bro.” I don’t intend to go crazy. Leave me alone, canine.”
Disputes and Arguments Carry On
Less than two weeks ago, Shia LaBeouf faced a backlash from fans of Timothée Chalamet after he compared himself to the Call Me by Your Name star. Many people on the internet started discussing the comment, and it reminded them of things LaBeouf has done in the past.
We will have to wait and see if his appearance at Slauson Rec restores his reputation or simply reinforces it. Currently, Shia LaBeouf is trying to stay on the path of self-improvement, but for the cameras, he must still play up his earlier erratic behavior.
