Queen Camilla’s Niece Breaks Silence on Agonizing Illness

Ayesha Shand, the niece of Queen Camilla, is revealing how the Queen has uplifted her during her private health struggles. The 30-year-old marketing expert opened up about her struggles with endometriosis at the 13th Annual Endometriosis Foundation of America’s Blossom Ball in New York on May 15.
The Journey from “Doctor Sleep” to “The Shining” Was a Basketful of Trouble
Shand was very honest about her illness, describing it as painful and too much to handle during the most intense times last year. Lots of attendees at the Pierre Hotel found her honesty particularly moving.
Her symptoms became so severe that she had pelvic lesions removed in a surgery in New York, carried out by Dr. Tamer Seckin.
A Queen Camilla’s Gift: The Peace of Silent Compassion
The thing that struck me the most in Shand’s revelation is how Queen Camilla gave her such a reliable source of comfort.
“I’m very close to my aunt. She’s been incredibly supportive of my journey with endometriosis and always listens to me,” Ayesha shared in an interview with The Mail.
Unlike her official royal role, Camilla, according to Shand, is very smart, humorous, and caring. According to readings, the niece’s deep support played a huge role in her recovery from emotional and mental challenges.
The Friendship That Lasts Through the Years
It wasn’t an instant connection. Ayesha explained that they had a close relationship long before Camilla focused on her royal duties.
“When I was younger, we used to read a lot together,” Shand fondly recalled — a fitting memory considering Queen Camilla’s work with several literacy organizations.
Their time together wasn’t just about books, though.
“The Brits, we love a walk. That’s one of the main things we do — walking the dogs, that kind of thing,”
She smiled as she told me about the ordinary activities that helped build their relationship.
Facing Hard Times Through Truth
When Ayesha Shand speaks publicly, she joins other women who are bringing attention to endometriosis, a condition not well understood and frequently misdiagnosed. Shand, thanks to her aunt’s support and her strength, is guiding others and taking her quest in stride.
