“I had a responsibility; we had a responsibility. We had our dog, and obviously, I never, ever thought this event would occur,” she said.
She admitted that while Liam Payne’s passing was an unimaginable tragedy, they had maintained separate lives at times.
“It was a tragic accident, and no, I never did think (he might die young). But, you know, we did have our own separate lives – this wasn’t the first time we had traveled separately.”

His death occurred two years after Liam Payne started dating Cassidy. During their recent trip to Argentina, they had dedicated their time there to quiet vacationing. Several days before the tragic event she returned to America.
