As reported by Express, the royal couple interacted with staff and other British Muslim women at the restaurant that is undertaking to feed people in need for charity during the month of Ramadan.
King Charles’ Playful Remark
During the event, the monarch joined the process of packing dates into paper bags for Iftaar, or the meals consumed by Muslims after sundown, which marks the breaking of fast. This did not take long because his proficiency was acknowledged, and he was congratulated. He just laughed King Charles’ statement, saying, “I may be past my sell-by date!” This brought about a smile among the audience through the joke that was said in an unexpected manner.
Queen Camilla Joins the Effort
On the other hand, Queen Camilla was not idle but assisting by packing takeaway containers with biryani for the needy people. At one juncture, she attempted to wink at King Charles and attract his attention by flagging the box of takeaway containers and coughing. Reacting to her actions, Charles rapidly followed her suit, which was a good-natured laugh.
A Royal Approval for Biryani?
Again, when they were still touring around, they were told that some of the foods would be taken to the royal Palace. King Charles, clearly delighted, eagerly asked,
“Is it chicken and proper basmati rice?”
