Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are once again at odds—this time over their 11-year-old daughter, North West. The dispute escalated after the rapper featured North in his latest song, LONELY ROADS STILL GO TO SUNSHINE, alongside Diddy and Christian “King” Combs.
According to TMZ, Kim, 44, had already taken legal action to prevent North from being included in the track. The reality star reportedly sent cease-and-desist letters to Kanye, insisting she wanted to keep their daughter out of the spotlight when it came to his music.
Leaked Texts Reveal Heated Exchange
In a shocking turn of events, Kanye West, 47, leaked a series of text messages between him and Kim Kardashian before later deleting them. In the messages, Kim Kardashian allegedly pleads with him to respect her legal decision.
“Stop… I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song… To protect her,” she wrote, according to TMZ.
Kanye, however, did not back down. His response was both defiant and ominous:
“Amend it or I’m going to war, and neither of us will recover from the public fallout. You’re going to have to kill me.”
Dispute Over North’s Trademarks
The leaked messages also revealed another point of tension between the former couple—control over North’s name trademarks. Kim Kardashian reportedly reminded Kanye that they had previously agreed she would oversee them until North turns 18. This ongoing legal and personal battle only adds to their history of high-profile conflicts following their 2022 divorce.
North’s Role in Kanye’s Controversial Track
Despite Kim Kardashian’s objections, North’s voice appears on Kanye’s new song, rapping,
“When you see me shining, then you see the light.”
The song’s public controversy intensified because of Diddy’s role in it. The music producer sits in jail because of critical accusations, which include operating a sex trafficking ring and racketeering activities. In the song, Kanye even refers to Diddy as a “father figure.”
What’s Next for Kanye and Kim?
This recent dispute highlights the ongoing conflict between Kim and Kanye, which now affects their children-related decisions despite the dispute being mostly resolved. The court fight between Kim and Kanye will likely continue to play out with unknown future steps but both sides will keep fighting according to current indications.
