Former US president Jimmy Carter, who was the 39th president of America, who also got the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002, he has died at the age of 100. He passed away in his home, surrounded by his family in Plains, Georgia. During his lifetime, he became the oldest president in American history due to his record of 100 years of age.
A Legacy of Family and Service
Carter was accompanied by his children, Jack Carter, Jeffrey Carter, and Amy Carter; 11 grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. His beloved wife Rosalynn and one grandchild died before his death. Carter was always appreciated for his non-violent, humane policies, especially during his presidency and the years after.
Public and Private Farewell Arrangements
There are presently preparations for a public commemoration of Jimmy Carter in Atlanta and Washington, DC. These will be succeeded by a private burial in Plains, Georgia. Further arrangements for the state funeral, the public events, and the motorcade procession will be released in the next few days.
Honoring Jimmy Carter’s Legacy
In honor of President Jimmy Carter’s life, an official memorial has been arranged, including biographical information and an online book of condolences, into which people can write their messages. Instead of flowers, the Carter family requests donations be made to the Jimmy Carter Center, an organization established by President Carter to effectively fight diseases and work for peace.
