The famous Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa has secured his role as anti-hero Lobo in the upcoming Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow film production. During his Jimmy Kimmel Live interview, he expressed his strong bond with Lobo which he disclosed through his lifelong love for the character since he dreamed of taking on the role.
A Rare Honor in Comic Book History
During his introduction on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jason Momoa achieved a rare accomplishment mademakes him part of an exclusive clique of entertainers to portray characters from both hero and villain personas in the same fictional universe.
“This is a very rare honor, one I think has only been awarded to Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, and a few others,”
Kimmel remarked, referring to actors who have taken on both protagonist and antagonist roles in Marvel and DC. The talk show host also noted how Momoa’s resemblance to Lobo is uncanny, making him a natural fit for the role. The actor agreed with a proud grin, revealing that he has collected every Lobo comic and has been a huge fan of the character for years.
Jason Momoa’s Longtime Dream Come True
Jason Momoa admitted that he originally thought he would be cast as Lobo years ago, back when director Zack Snyder first approached him for Batman v Superman.
“I thought I was going to play Lobo when Zack Snyder callead me because it was Batman v Superman,” he recalled. “They needed to have a villain in there.”
When he received the Aquaman part he became known throughout American households. Many years after his first attempt his ambition to make Lobo a reality has at last reached completion.
What’s Next for Momoa?
Jason Momoa disclosed that he has begun developing Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow while his fanbase anticipates his portrayal of this tough new comic personality. The Fast X actor has Future Deliveries in both his DC work as well as Minecraft that will release on April 4.
