Canadian musician Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, recently described the situation as one in which she tried to protect herself on social media. Her first idea was to spend the night with a friend, but the area where her friend lives was also put on an evacuation alert, so she had no place to go driving around in search of a place to sleep.

The 36-year-old artist expressed her concern about climate change. She saw that the severity of the wildfires was the result of people’s negligence regarding environmental problems.
