
Medical reports confirm the death of Jan Schwieterman known for his Nickelodeon character in the 1997 release Good Burger at age 51. Earlier this month his family disclosed to the world that an aggressive form of stage 4 cancer had been detected in the actor before his death.
A Sudden and Heartbreaking Loss
On March 1 Chad Schwieterman announced the sad passing of his brother Jan Schwieterman through a moving Facebook post.
“It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my brother, Jan (JP) Schwieterman,” Chad wrote. “He recently found out he had an aggressive form of stage 4 cancer and passed yesterday evening. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this difficult time. Rest in peace, brother. We love you and miss you.”
According to his obituary, Schwieterman passed away on February 29 at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri.
From Small-Town Roots to Hollywood Success
Born on September 30, 1972 in Bluffton Indiana Schwieterman grew fond of adventure and creativity since his childhood. During his childhood he became proud of attaining Eagle Scout status while his adult life led him toward acting opportunities in California.
Jan Schwieterman achieved his career milestone through Good Burger as he took on the pompous role of Kurt Bozwell who led the competing fast-food operation Mondo Burger. Good Burger gained cult status under the direction of Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell while starring Carmen Electra, Shaquille O’Neal along with Linda Cardellini in its respected cast.
Jan Schwieterman participated in different films and television shows after his role in Good Burger. During 1999 Schwieterman starred in two notable films called American Intellectuals and Warlock III: The End of Innocence. Jan Schwieterman occasionally appeared on multiple television shows including ER as well as Felicity and McKenna and NightMan.
A Life of Creativity and Exploration
His life revealed a dual point of interest between performing as an actor while he nurtured a deep fascination for traveling around many nations. As an artistic person by nature he communicated his artistic vision through picture-taking and painting. Dungeons & Dragons occupied a central role in his hobby life and around the same time he conducted martial arts training.
Honoring His Legacy
The surviving family members of Robert Michael Schwieterman include his mother Clara Reed, father LeeRoy Schwieterman together with his siblings Megan and Vanessa and brother Chad. The memorial mass took place at St. Paul’s Church in Berger, Missouri on March 4 as donors contributed their gifts to the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Following his passing, Chad expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support from fans and loved ones.
“Thank you, everyone, for your support. We miss JP deeply and appreciate your thoughts and prayers,” he wrote.
Jan Schwieterman’s contributions to film and television, as well as his adventurous spirit, will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him.
