
R&B singer and songwriter Angie Stone left this world during her 63rd year. A representative of the singer stated at Variety that she died from a fatal car accident that occurred in Montgomery, Alabama. Stone was driving back to his residence following his performance before the accident. The accident resulted in the loss of life only for her, despite other passengers surviving. In her social media pos, Diamond Stone expressed her overwhelming sorrow by confessing, “My mommy is gone.”
A Trailblazer in Hip-Hop and R&B
Angie Stone’s musical adventure started in the late 1970s, following her role in launching The Sequence with other young female rappers. The group produced Funk You Up, which later turned into legendary hip-hop music that received samples from Dr. Dre in Keep Their Heads Ringin’ and Bruno Mars in Uptown Funk. Angie Stone commented about her musical career during her interview in 2023.

The disbandment of The Sequence in the mid-1980s allowed Angie Stone to become the lead singer in Vertical Hold and Devox. Together with D’Angelo Stone, he co-wrote his initial two records and performed as a supporting vocalist during his live shows. The singing skills of Angie Stone brought her into partnership with Lenny Kravitz for his album 5 in 1998.
A Respected Solo Career
Angie Stone made her solo recording debut with Black Diamond in 1999, and its releases included No More Rain (In This Cloud) as well as Life Story. Her musical success flourished when she released Mahogany Soul in 2001, which produced her highest-selling song Wish I Didn’t Miss You.
